I had the rare opportunity to train with and film Patrick De Gayardon who is known by many as the greatest all around skydiver of the 20th century. Patrick lived and died on the cutting edge of extreme skydiving. He introduced the world to skysurfing, held a number of skydiving world records including highest jump without oxygen, and he reinvented flight with wing-suits. Before the world had even heard of skysurfing, he was doing twisting layouts, flips, turns, and tracking across the sky. Before the world had heard of wingsuit flight, he was chasing after, catching and climbing into airplanes in flight! Patrick died on the North Shore of Hawaii while test jumping his modified wingsuit. Skysurfing and Wingsuits have become popular throughout the skydiving community. Patrick blazed those trails and skydivers around the world follow carefully in his footsteps.
